Not all apps can stream. Countless music apps on the Play Store stop streaming after 1 song is played. The solution is to restart the phone, but the bug will reappear after 1 song has played.
This bug affects:
Music Player, MP3 player (Red Sky Labs)
Mi Music
…
Does not affect:
Samsung music player
Musicolet Music Player
YouTube
…
When I play audio in parallel on my phone, only the app that is not affected will stream.
I have been using this app for years, very often. I always use it with “Music Player” by Red Sky Labs; 2 days ago, it stopped streaming Audio Relay (They had an update 2 days ago).
Obviously, it must be an old bug with AudioRelay. Is there any chance of fixing it? Perhaps Red Sky Labs’ recent update is what is preventing it from being streamed.
Steps to reproduce
On Android, select “stream the sound of your apps”. Play music on “Music Player” by Red Sky Labs, skip to the next song and the streaming stops.
Devices
Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro
Samsung Note 20 Ultra
(Same problem on both devices)
I’d interpret that in reverse, if the Music Player changed recently, then that would be the app to blame I think.
On my Google Pixel, when trying Mi Music and Music Player both their ads and my audio files can’t be captured by AudioRelay, at all. Even after a restart.
Do you confirm that you see this behavior on BOTH the Samsung and the Xiaomi device? And on BOTH Music Player and Mi Music?
That seems very strange… It shouldn’t work AT ALL if they disallowed audio capture as outlined here
I’ve contacted the support team of both the apps you mentioned, we’ll see if they can allow back audio capture.
I’ve got some update, the app seems to be affected by the WebView bug mentioned here.
After testing with the canary build, I could capture the audio from the apps you mentioned.
So, you’ll need to wait for an update to the WebView component or, intall the unstable canary build.
