Hi! I’m having a really weird issue with AudioRelay and I’m honestly running out of ideas.
I’m using my phone as a microphone through AudioRelay. Everything seems to connect normally, but the actual microphone audio never reaches Windows.
The weird part is that Windows detects the AudioRelay Virtual Mic normally. It appears as an input device, it can be selected as a microphone, and Windows even shows that it’s being used. However, there is absolutely no audio coming through it. The input level stays completely silent.
I’ve already gone through the usual troubleshooting:
- Reinstalled AudioRelay.
- Completely uninstalled it and installed it again.
- Checked the Windows sound settings and made sure the Virtual Mic is enabled.
- Checked that the correct Virtual Mic is selected as the input device.
- Granted all the permissions AudioRelay requested on my phone.
- Checked the microphone setup in AudioRelay.
- Reinstalled the AudioRelay drivers.
- Tried installing the microphone and speaker drivers separately.
- Tested the connection using USB tethering instead of Wi-Fi.
None of that changed anything. The connection itself works, the devices are detected, and there doesn’t seem to be an obvious permission or installation problem. It’s just that no microphone audio makes it through to the Virtual Mic.
I’ve also seen some older posts about similar issues, but I haven’t been able to find a solution that matches my situation.
At this point I’m wondering if there’s a way to check whether AudioRelay is actually sending the microphone audio to Windows, or if something is failing between AudioRelay and the Virtual Mic driver. If there are any logs, diagnostic tools, or commands I can use to figure out where the audio is getting lost, I’d be happy to try them.
My setup:
- Xiaomi phone
- Android 15
- Windows 11 PC
- AudioRelay installed on both devices
