Latest .deb not working in Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS

Description

AudioRelay fails to install in Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS due to missing package “libflac8”

Steps to reproduce

  1. Download and open the latest .deb package from the downloads page.
  2. Try installing it with the system package installer (Ubuntu Software)
  3. Get “unknown” error
  4. Try installing with Gdebi package installer
  5. Get "Error: dependency is not satisfiable: libflac8 "
  6. Try to install

Workarounds

Using the binary in the archive release (.tar.gz) instead of the .deb package works.

Devices

Desktop computer running Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS, Intel CPU, no other relevant hardware to mention.
