I use AudioRelay to listen to my PC (windows 11) on my Android phone that is in turn connected to my Jabra/Resound behind the ear hearing aids. I listen to my flight simulator most of the time, but I also listen to music. Hearing aids by themselves are not quality audio devices. They specifically boost certain frequencies in order to fill the gaps in the frequencies the ear can no longer respond to.
If I put on an over the ear headset over my hearing aids, they in turn act as an ear plug because they are in my ear canal and they actually block much of the sound from the head set. Hard to believe but that is how they are. Awefull things… They are good in the mid-range but really bad on the low end of the audio spectrum.
AudioRelay is really great, but it is missing what I think would be a really great feature for hearing impaired people like me. I would like to see a sound boost and a sound equalizer freature that I could tune using a frequency response graph from my Audiologist.
The graph highlights what frequencies my hearing aids boost to fill the gaps in my hearing. All I would need to do is add these frequencies to the equalizer and the switch to commercially available earbuds or headphones connected to my phone.
That would be so cool. I tried several audio equalizers available on Android, but they do not work very well because they are not granular enough, come with music players and disapear from the marketplace when they become incompatible to my version of Android as it releases new updates. Some of these products are minimally supported once they come out of beta.
