Does AudioRelay Use Phones' Internal DACs?

I’m using an ASUS ROG Phone 5, which has a built-in DAC.

Do you ask because the quality isn’t great?
If so, have you already tried to change the audio output in the Android app settings?
(An example of someone else asking about LG’s DAC)
