Here is a related bug report when you are attempting to use an external microphone (Android Headset) as a Microphone Server to a Computer: Audio Relay does not use external microphone connected to Android Server
This behavior does not change regardless of the selected setting in the Android Server > Microphone (Default, Voicr Communication, Raw, etc) settings.
